Info

With this site-specific performance, Lucatelli and SCENATET delve into a common interest: The raw urban space as a stage for a personally grounded display of art. The scenographic setting for the work is Godsbanen, which bears unique traces of history combined with dreams of the future. Rusty railway tracks and massive building structures meet creative oases. This mosaic of history and the present – a place where the industrial world meets creativity and nature – reflects how the work investigates people’s relationship with the outdoor space they find themselves, as well as the fascination that lies in the aesthetics of neglect.

Tableaus of miniature universes, with eight performers as your hosts and guides, are spread out across the area, allowing the audience to actively move around and experience the work from different angles, both aurally and visually. Through this experience, various aesthetic and thematic layers in the work will be revealed, including people’s relationship to the specific place and its potential future.

  • Marcela Lucatelli (b. 1988) is a Brazilian composer, director and vocalist. Her singular works – described as “scores for the limits of body and voice” and “inhuman human noise” – are strikingly original, sensuous, and politically charged. They redefine the stage as an arena for art, humor, and the struggle for life itself. Her compositions have been performed globally by leading ensembles such as the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, SCENATET and Apartment House, with appearances at numerous renowned festivals and venues.
