Info
A four-channel soundscape that invites people to step out of time and space, offering each listener a unique experience – whether it’s calm reflection or confrontation with discomfort. The piece also works as ambient sound, allowing listeners to choose their position, movement, and level of engagement. They are free to decide how actively they wish to immerse themselves, creating a personal and dynamic interaction with the environment.
The work references the interplay between the natural and the artificial, the calm and the chaotic. Inspiration is drawn from the contrasts in human experience – from the serene to the unsettling – as well as societal contradictions, individual perception, and the constant tension between order and chaos. The world’s ongoing shifts in values and contrasts shape the soundscapes that are created. Themes include personal and collective experience, societal tendencies, and philosophical reflections on how people navigate and perceive the world. As such, the work explores how meaning is found in a world that often feels contradictory and overwhelming.

Rune Lak (b. 1991), also known as D-rune, is a Danish artist, who lives and works in Aarhus. He works with sound as a narrative, an atmosphere, and a sensory force. As a composer, sound designer, and producer, he moves freely between genres, media, and formats – from installations and film to record releases and collaborations with other artists. His practice is driven by a search for honest, risk-taking stories and the electrifying feeling that arises when sound creates structure and meaning – both alone and in interplay with others. He defines himself as a trip-hop artist and mood curator, but he works intuitively and without fixed boundaries.
