Info
Central will perform his techno-infused music at a loud volume. The audience is invited to listen, dance, or simply observe and reflect. The performance will take the form of a hybrid between DJ set and live show, featuring a mix of Central’s own productions. His music and the surrounding activities engage with a wide range of themes, primarily centered around questions such as these: How can one contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive, anti-racist, and anti-capitalist world? How, if at all, does Central fit into traditions of musicmaking that resist violent and oppressive forces in music, society, and politics? Is it possible to make music without immediately having to contextualize or explain it? How can political messages be conveyed through functional, wordless music? What does it mean to release, perform, and communicate music today? How do you express discomfort with normative expectations of being an artist without seeming arrogant or overly simplistic? Does club music even have a place outside the club context? And, not least: Is it simply enough to say that Central loves grooves, loops, and interesting textures – rather than having to describe the music in detail?
