How will the artworks at ARoS be experienced when interpreted through sound, tone, and music – and together form an entirely new expression? This is the question that students from SPOR New Music School will answer during SPOR festival, when they premiere their newly created compositions among the artworks at ARoS Aarhus Art Museum. Together with musicians from the NJYD Quartet and composition students from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, curiosity, openness, and playfulness take center stage as the students explore new musical worlds and forms of expression. SPOR New Music School is initiated by SPOR festival and has, since 2015, inspired children and young people in the Central Denmark Region to create and perform their own musical works. In a carefully structured process, professional musicians, composers, and composition students from Danish and Nordic academies nurture the creativity of the students. The project is led by composer and educator Østen Mikal Ore.
